Research privacy notice
Updated 7 October 2026
Live customer reports and payments are not available. A separate notice and customer terms will be completed before paid orders open.
Who is responsible
Michael Hutton trading as KELNU is responsible for KELNU research responses. Contact kelnu.contact@gmail.com. Business and correspondence address: 20 Kestrel Court, Clydebank, G81 6BH, United Kingdom.
Current collection
Feedback surveys are open for voluntary research responses. Optional visit/action measurement remains disabled, including at the server endpoint. Basic daily page counts continue. Survey participation is optional and earlier responses can still be deleted using their private codes.
What you provide
The survey asks for buying circumstances, your understanding of the fictional sample, usefulness, alternatives, willingness to pay and optional written feedback. The international survey also records your selected country and buying stage. It saves the submission time and randomly generated response/deletion identifiers.
It does not request your name, email, payment details, registration or VIN. Please leave identifying details out of written answers. We do not describe responses as completely anonymous: a written answer could identify you, and the hosting platform can process technical request information.
The viewing companion also offers an optional use-feedback form. It records whether you report using it at an actual viewing, preparing or exploring; optional country and written feedback; and whether you would use it again. Only the explicitly submitted feedback fields are sent. Checklist notes, ticks and photos are excluded. Reported use is not independently verified. The form does not enable automatic interaction tracking.
Purpose and choice
The founder reviews responses to assess interest and improve KELNU. Participation is voluntary. Where a response contains personal information, we rely on your consent to process it for this research. You can refuse or withdraw without losing access to the free tools. Responses are not orders, bookings or marketing sign-ups. We do not publish individual answers, sell them or send them to the vehicle-data suppliers as part of this research.
Where responses are handled
The preview is hosted through ChatGPT Sites using Cloudflare infrastructure. OpenAI processes hosted personal information on our behalf under its ChatGPT Sites Data Processing Addendum. The agreement includes standard contractual clauses amended by the UK Addendum for UK data transfers. Sites does not offer a UK-only data residency commitment. Survey responses are saved in the site's database. The survey has no public response listing or public database-reading endpoint. KELNU reviews responses through owner-authorised administration tools; the hosting provider also processes them to deliver the service. The hosting services can process technical request information needed to operate and secure the site. Exact processing and backup locations are still being verified; we make no UK-only storage claim. The research form should not be used to submit sensitive personal information.
The current survey handler does not send your answers to an external AI service. A vehicle-data API is used only in separate private developer tests with fictional sandbox data, not to check survey participants' cars.
Retention
We retain responses while this initial research round is active, review their continued need at least every 30 days, and delete individual responses when they are no longer needed for that round. We will close this round by 31 December 2026 and delete its individual responses by 7 January 2027. Non-identifying aggregate findings may be kept for product planning. Deletion from the active database may not immediately remove copies held in platform backups; the applicable backup lifecycle is being verified.
Withdraw or delete your response
After submitting, save the private deletion code shown on the page. Use it on the survey page to remove your response from the active database. Participation can be withdrawn without affecting the lawfulness of earlier consent-based processing. Without the code, we may be unable to identify which response is yours. You can contact us about your information rights; please do not send additional sensitive information just to identify a survey response.
Your rights and complaints
Where applicable, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, and withdraw consent. Contact kelnu.contact@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Basic traffic measurement
From 3 October 2026, KELNU counts requests for its public pages to understand which pages are used. We save only a daily total for each fixed page name, using the Europe/London calendar day. The counter does not save IP addresses, visitor identifiers, full URLs, search parameters, referring sites, advert details or device information, and does not set cookies or use browser storage.
Repeat visits and refreshes can count again. Known automated requests, private setup pages and requests marked Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are excluded where detectable. These totals are approximate page views, not unique visitors or proof of buyer interest. Hosting providers still process technical information as described above. We remove daily totals older than 90 days when new counted traffic arrives. If the site is inactive, older aggregate totals remain until the next counted request.
Optional visit and action measurement
Earlier on 3 October 2026, we offered separate, optional first-party visit and action measurement. That collection is now disabled in both the page script and server endpoint. There is currently no option to enable it. Using the free tools or submitting a survey does not restart it. An earlier consent choice stored in a browser tab is used only to offer deletion of that visit’s records. Previously, consent allowed a random visit identifier to link fixed page names and actions for up to 30 minutes. Those historical records are pseudonymous visits, not verified people or identified customers.
The paused system previously recorded only that identifier, an allowed generic channel label (garage, inspector, instructor, community, Reddit, outreach or direct/unspecified), fixed page/action names, receipt time, London calendar day and consent version. We do not record IP addresses, full URLs, referrers, arbitrary campaign text, form answers, notes, photos, vehicle identifiers or device details in these events. Survey records remain separate; no response identifier is attached to measurement. “Direct” includes unlabelled and unknown sources and is not proof of direct navigation. Events do not prove human use or paying demand.
We rely on your consent for this optional measurement. If this tab still has an earlier visit identifier, use “Delete my earlier visit records” at the bottom of any page to stop and request deletion of the current visit’s events. A minimal withdrawal marker (the random visit identifier and withdrawal time) prevents delayed events from restoring that visit’s records; it follows the same 90-day cleanup. A failure message means deletion was not confirmed. Earlier records remain subject to the existing 90-day retention policy. Collection is paused; retention review and deletion still need to be carried out, rather than relying on new events. Hosting logs and backups remain subject to the hosting information above. Contact KELNU about your data rights. We do not sell these events, send them to advertising services or use them to identify you.
Detectable bots, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control requests are ignored. Our own tests use a dedicated exclusion link. Exclusion cannot identify every bot or every repeat visitor. Funnel analysis covers only opted-in visits and can be biased by that choice; survey submissions are verified separately in feedback storage. Historical page totals cannot be turned into visitor funnels.
Browser and platform information
The survey application generates its response identifiers for the current page session. It does not ask for marketing consent or add advertising analytics. Platform cookies, security logs and backup practices are being checked separately; we do not claim the whole hosting platform is cookie-free. This notice will be updated as those arrangements are confirmed.
Your viewing dossier
Checklist ticks, seller answers, viewing notes and selected reference photos stay on the open page. KELNU does not receive or store the dossier contents. Optional usage measurement is paused; no new checklist ticks are sent to KELNU. Saving creates an unencrypted dossier file on your device; reopening reads that file locally. No dossier is automatically backed up or saved to a KELNU account. Anyone who can access your saved file can read it. Remove names, addresses, faces, signatures, registration numbers and VINs before adding a photo; do not add complete V5C documents. Clearing the workspace does not delete downloaded files or your original photos: manage those in your device’s Files or Photos app. Device backup or cloud-drive services you choose may store your file under their own terms.
This page is included in the same aggregate traffic counter described above. Dossier contents are not sent with that count.
